We all know what Pizza is, but what is a braai?
“The word braai, which comes from the Dutch, meaning ‘to grill,’ is an abbreviation of braaivleis meaning ‘grilled meat’. It means to roast over coals and comes from the word braaivlei.”
In South Africa, a braai is more of a gathering than an action. Of course, it is an action; however, In South Africa, we go to a braai to gather around a fire, drink our favorite beverage, and cook our food over some coal.
